Monitoring of the construction of a sewage pipeline (2m—2.5m wide and up to 2m deep) through the grounds of the friary in February 1991 revealed a small portion of the corner of a medieval structure which is possibly related to the monastery buildings. A number of other features including post-medieval red brick and masonry walls, gullies, culverts and box drains (at least one of which appears to be medieval in date) were revealed and recorded.
Pottery dating to the 14th/15th centuries was recovered in the area of the medieval structure.
