Archaeological investigations were conducted here on the 27th and 28th May 1991. The site was located in Cappoge townland, some five kilometres north-north-west of Dunleer. The purpose of the investigation was to test the area for a possible enclosure prior to construction of the Dunleer Bypass.
No finds or features were recovered. The area was later monitored during road construction and there did not appear to be any disturbance of archaeological deposits.
