Six cuts were opened on the east side of the field immediately north of the Tower House at Glin, on foot of a planning application for a private dwelling. Cartographic and historic evidence suggest that this is the site of the bawn but no structural remains were identified and only one of the cuttings produced an organic deposit which could be archaeological; the remainder indicating that the site had been recently backfilled.
