In 1991 human remains were discovered during the digging of a trench for electrical cable at a dwelling house in the townland of Ardranny More, near Kiltormer, Co. Galway.98 The find was reported to the local Gardaí but the remains were not removed, nor was the site reported to the NMI. In 1994 Mrs Marie Lynch, the landowner, reported the discovery of the skeletons to Professor Étienne Rynne. She described the skeletons as being aligned north/south, arranged ‘head to toe’. According to Mrs Lynch, there were no structural stones in the vicinity of the burials, nor were there any associated artefacts. Professor Rynne reported the find to the National Museum, who contacted the finder. The site was not investigated.
