A single human skeleton was excavated from the root ball of a fallen tree. The burial was extended, orientated east-west with the head in the west. The arms were crossed over the pelvis. A worked antler burr was found in loose soil nearby. The burial was located 6.5m from a long stone cist excavated in 1957. Other human remains have been reported from the general area indicating the site of a cemetery of early medieval date.
