Investigation to assess the archaeological potential of the site took place during one week in March 1991. Prior to excavation no surface indications of a site were visible. At this time it was already apparent that much major disturbance had taken place in the area, in the form of topsoil stripping associated with the Dunsink tip, where the site was situated. Though an extensive area was examined no evidence of a structure was uncovered. A shallow burnt area, probably representing a recent fire, was the only feature uncovered. No archaeological material or features were found. It is suggested that any features which may have been present at the site were already obliterated due to soil stripping.
