An investigation, funded by a private developer, took place south-east of the driveway in the grounds of the Bon Secours Hospital, Glasnevin, which was thought could be within the 6th-century monastery of St Mobhi. Between 1914 and 1956 a number of burials were discovered in the vicinity which could have formed part of an extensive burial ground associated with the monastery. Two trenches were opened on the line of the proposed new development. From the results it was apparent that as part of the landscaping of the site, possibly by the Bon Secours Hospital authorities, the ground level had been considerably raised. Modern fill extended to a maximum of 3.2m below the existing ground level. Below this were undisturbed natural riverborne deposits. There were no archaeological deposits relating to medieval or earlier occupation on the site.
