A watching brief, funded by the developer, was carried out on a proposed car-park site 100m north-west of the Abbey and Round Tower at Drumalane, Co. Cavan. A study of the aerial photographs of the area revealed the possibility of an enclosure running close to the site, presumably associated with the use of the site as a monastery. However, monitoring of the topsoil removal prior to car-park construction revealed nothing of archaeological significance.
