The site of an earth and stone monument which had been destroyed in the course of reclamation work some twenty years ago is located close to the present public road from Carrick-on-Shannon to Boyle. It adjoins the avenue leading to Carrigard House. Test cuttings indicate that the one metre thick basal layers of earth and stone of the original monument, possibly a cairn mound, still remain in situ.
