An investigation of a section of the proposed ring road at Trim was carried out in April - May 1989, funded by Meath Co. Council. Seven investigative trenches were extended across the proposed road. A feature comprising rough, dry-stone walls was uncovered. These formed retaining walls for the gravel in the area. Further investigation of the area showed it to be an isolated feature. Historical sources revealed no evidence for building activity so it was thought to be a garden feature of the 17th or 18th century. A single sherd of pottery of that date was found in association with the walls.
