This site was investigated as a result of the proposed construction of the Maynooth – Leixlip – Kilcock Motorway Scheme. Excavation took place during a three-week period in August 1989. The site was identified from a crop mark. Prior to excavation a slight depression running across the field was observed. The excavation yielded no evidence of archaeologically significant material. The only discoveries were a series of old land drains. The depression referred to above was such a land drain. A watching brief will take place during motorway construction. Work was financed by Kildare County Council. To be published in 1991, in the Journal of the Kildare Archaeological Society.
