One of six sites selected for investigation along the proposed route of the Kilcullen Link Motorway.
The site appeared as a mound, measuring 10m in diameter, and 1.4m in height. It lies some 300m to the north of the burial ground, Greenhills, site 31 in 1988. A substantial area to the east of the tumulus was fully investigated, yielding evidence of land drains. This area is now clear for motorway construction. During the investigation it was established that the tumulus is of artificial construction, and therefore a full scale excavation is scheduled for 1989.
