As with no. 56 (EXCAVATIONS, 1986), this site was revealed in section, at a deeply graded ramp-access to a stream crossing. It was buried beneath a 1.2m-thick deposit of marl cast up from a widening and deepening of the stream. The mound material extended for a maximum of 20m with an 8m length exposed along the ramp section. It was visible across the full 20m width of the pipeline corridor and was 15cm in maximum thickness.

Three roughly hewn planks were found, in section, on the opposite side of the stream, embedded in marl and sealed by a 3cm thick deposit of charcoal-flecked sandy clay. A small cutting 1.80m x 85cm was opened to expose the timbers and they were found to extend further into the section. The three were placed on a level surface roughly side by side having an overall width of 55cm. They were 7-8cm thick. There were no traces of uprights, or of a trough pit, so it is not possible to interpret these timbers with any certainty.

A fragment of deer antler was recovered from a possibly related deposit beneath the fulacht fiadh mound material.

There were no other finds.
