In May 1980 human remains were discovered during road-widening operations by Galway County Council at Tiranascragh townland, Ballycrissane, Co. Galway.114 The remains, an articulated extended skeleton, were discovered at a depth of c. 0.45m below ground level. No artefacts or grave structures were discovered. The site was not investigated by the NMI, and the remains were not acquired.
