There are no visible traces of this monument, named ‘the Grey Stones’, which was described in 1940 as “a group of well-cut stones standing very close together on a small grass mound” and apparently removed around 1950. The site was investigated prior to its total removal in a farm scheme. A trench measuring 10x8m was opened up, using the 1907 O.S. map as a locational guide, and the dark topsoil was found to lie directly on the natural glacial sand. Apart from a few pieces of cremated bone, no trace was found of the prehistoric structure.
