The landowner bulldozed approximately one third of a trivallate ringfort prior to the construction of farm buildings. Subsequently, a two-week excavation was carried out to investigate a break in the ringfort’s defences in the area where it was proposed to build a slurry pit. A trench (3m x 4m) was opened across this break which revealed a gravel path, of recent date, running through it. No features or finds contemporary with the occupation of the fort were discovered. A section was cut across the ringfort’s defences revealing a dump-construction triple bank and fosse arrangement; the banks much denuded and the fosses well silted-up.
