A salvage excavation was organised to examine an area threatened by gravel-quarrying. The site is at the edge of an extensive but ill-defined area of cist burials, with a standing stone to the N.W. A number of Bronze Age and Viking Age graves were uncovered during gravel excavation, and the excavation located two inhumation cist burials containing sherds of food vessels.
