The excavation consisted of two trenches, 2x4m and 2x5m, across each of two hut circles within an enclosure. These proved to be little more than rings of stones placed on deliberately created clay mounds with no definite internal features. Beneath one was a wall, a hearth and a slab-lined drain, and small stakeholes were found below the other. A small piece of iron and some struck flints were discovered, but no diagnostic finds were forthcoming.
An interesting aside was the discovery of a surprisingly thick layer of soil preserved under the clay mounds, implying a deterioration in soil conditions since they were constructed.
