In 1978 the National Museum received notification that a number of human remains from Carton Demesne, Co. Kildare,122 were in the possession of the Yorkshire Museum, York. The remains consisted of the pelvic bone and leg bone of a male, apparently found in Carton on 6 September 1946. No information about the find circumstances is known, but the curator at the Yorkshire Museum thought that the remains possibly came to be there via a Mr Willmot. The remains were returned to the NMI (1978:1).
