A small trapezoidal cist built from thin limestone slabs, situated near the summit of a glacial knoll beside the shore of Lough Ennel, was discovered during land improvement work. The contents had been interfered with prior to excavation. Sherds from a bowl food vessel and fragments of cremated human bone were recovered. Three waste flint fragments and portion of a retouched flint blade were found in the vicinity of the burial.
