In May, 1974, a simple pit burial was uncovered. The pit contained a decorated cordoned urn inverted over a deposit of cremated bone. Amongst the bones was found a stone battleaxehead in three fragments. This appeared to have been subjected to considerable heat. Both battle-axehead and urn have been reconstructed.
