In June 1971 human remains were discovered during ploughing on a farm at Clonguiffin, near Enfield, Co. Meath.200 The site was known locally as a nunnery and, according to the landowner, a number of earthworks were once visible in the field. The site was visited by Joseph Raftery but was under a crop and therefore could not be investigated. The SMR records a ringfort and a field system201 in this townland. The earthworks referred to may have been part of the field system.
