The complex nature of this extremely important site has been outlined in the recent issue of Current Archaeology. Work during the 1970 season was concentrated on the excavation of a further segment of the area which had been covered by the great cairn, and confirmed the site history as revealed in previous seasons. Finds were few– they included sherds of plain, very coarse, pottery, fragments of lignite armlets, a bronze ring-headed pin, and a piece of blue glass, which may be a fragment of a La Tene openwork glass bracelet. The comprehensive series of radiocarbon dates for this site has now been published.
