A proposed development consisting of four houses and accompanying services necessitated a field and desktop survey in advance of the commencement of works. The area of the development is central to a cluster of monuments, including ringforts, barrows, a motte and bailey, etc. The field survey did not identify any archaeological features owing to the overgrown nature of the development site, whilst the desktop survey revealed no known sites within the development area. Despite this it was recommended that monitoring of topsoil-stripping be undertaken when work commenced on site.
