Excavation of one of a group of Neolithic chipping floors on the edge of a quarry. This proved to be a small but very rich chipping floor which, though only three metres across, was more than ten centimetres thick. On the edge of it a number of flint implements and flint axe roughouts were found. About one metre away were the remains of a cooking pit or hearth which had been sealed by a thick layer of clay and stone.
