Excavation of a site which may be intermediate between Anglo-Norman and Native Irish Fortifications. It is a double defence work consisting of an outer bank and ditch and an inner polygonal stone wall. Two main periods of occupation, period II being very rich, it contained large quantities of both Anglo Norman and native pottery. The native pottery was both Souterrain ware and Everted Rim pots. The date of this phase was probably mid-14th century.
