In July 1965 a report was received from Gardaí at Roscrea that human remains had been discovered during drain-digging at Borris.261 The remains were found at a depth of approximately 1m below ground level and consisted of an extended skeleton aligned west/east. As the remains had been completely removed from their context, and no associated artefacts or structural slabs were noted, they were reburied locally.
