In April 1959 human remains were discovered during bulldozing operations at Lisnafunshin, near Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny.140 The remains were discovered at a depth of approximately 0.6m in a sandy hill. No stone structure or associated artefacts were noticed in the vicinity of the burial. The site was reported to the National Museum by the Gardaí at Castlecomer, but by this time the remains had already been reinterred. The site was not investigated by the National Museum.
