In August 1958 human remains were discovered during quarrying operations at a sandpit at Brockleypark, near Stradbally, Co. Laois.150 Part of the sandpit had collapsed, and the remains were discovered in the collapse. As they had been disturbed from their context, it was not possible to determine the disposition of the burial. There was no evidence for slabs or associated artefacts. The site was not investigated by the Museum and the remains were not acquired.
