In 1956 human remains were discovered at Donaghmore, Co. Meath.203 The discovery was reported to the Museum during fieldwork at a souterrain in the area and was investigated by Breandán Ó Ríordáin. The burials were found in a different part of the sandpit to the location of the souterrain, but the exact location was not noted. No grave-goods or stones were found in association with the burials, and the remains were not acquired.
