In August 1946 human remains were discovered in a sandpit at Killynan (Pratt), near Killucan, Co. Westmeath.296 The remains were apparently found in a pile and were in a poor state of preservation. According to the finders, the bone represented at least eight individuals. No associated artefacts or grave structures were noted. The site was not visited by NMI personnel and the remains were reburied locally.
