In 1933 a human skeleton was uncovered at Fairhill (td Townparks) in Galway City. The site was inspected by the GardaĆ­, the coroner and Dr Shea of University College, Galway.107 The burial is reported as being at a depth of approx. 1m in sandy soil, facing east, with the forearms laid across the chest. The teeth were apparently in perfect condition. The site was not visited by Museum personnel and the remains do not appear to have been retained.
