In 1929 the Museum received a report stating that a skeleton and an urn had been discovered twelve years previously in a sandpit near Wilkinstown, Co. Meath.7 No details survive, but according to the report the skeleton was ‘of massive size’. The cist had been closed by the finder in order to protect it from destruction. The site was not investigated by the Museum and the remains were not acquired.
