A programme of archaeological testing was undertaken as part of an assessment to ascertain the impact (if any) which a proposed residential development may have on the archaeological and historical resource of lands at Ballynaglogh, Co. Wexford. Two recorded archaeological monuments are located within close proximity to the site, a Church (SMR: WX027-045001) and Graveyard (SMR: WX027-045002) c.30m to the west and a Holy Well (SMR: WX027-044) c.100m to the northwest. This graveyard was the site of the medieval parish church of Killia.

A total of 8 test trenches were excavated across the site measuring c. 770 linear meters. The site was overgrown with long grass and scrub at the time of the investigation. Evidence of post-medieval land drainage and improvement works was indicated by the discovery of field drains field. The subsurface remains of a former water channel, visible on historic maps from the 19th century, was identified running along the western boundary of the site. This was possibly associated with land irrigation, agricultural activity or may have functioned as a water supply for the local milling industry and is considered post-medieval in date. The eastern end of the site was found to have been heavily disturbed in the past.

No features, deposits or finds of archaeological significance were uncovered during the investigations.
