Test excavations were carried out at Coolnagun Bog in advance of a proposed development. A total of 10 test trenches were excavated across the site. Each trench measured 1.8m in width, and in total, 100m of linear trenches were excavated. The natural subsoil consisted of a light bluish-grey marl. No archaeological features, deposits or structures were identified or recorded in any of the trenches excavated, and no artefacts were recovered.
