Nine trenches were excavated across the site, to assess the archaeological potential of anomalies identified in a geophysical survey (26R0490). Most the anomalies proved to be geological in origin, with the exception of agricultural features of likely 20th-century date. The spoil from the trenches was metal detected (26R009). No artefacts were recovered.
