Monitoring was carried out in June 2026 in response to q condition attached to the grant of permission by Offaly County Council for a meteorological mast. It included excavation of 15 anchor points: Anchor Points 1-5 on the northeast-southwest axis, Anchor Points 6-10 on the east-west axis, and Anchor Points 11-15 on the north-south axis. The anchor points consisted of pits that measured 1m by 2m. The natural yellowish-grey boulder clay was exposed at depths of between 0.2m and 0.4m; in some of the trenches bedrock was exposed below the natural, and a breaker was used to achieve the intended max depth of 1.5m.
No features of archaeological significance were uncovered. The work is now complete, and no further work is necessary.
