2026:262 - Annagh More, Mayo

The landowner has a wonderful dual- court tomb (MA038-001—-) on her lands and wished to have excess vegetation cleared to make it more visible and more accessible. Whitethorn and blackthorn bushes were pruned and briars sheared at the base and all grass cut by strimmer. Following the work it was possible to compare with plan drawn by de Valera and Ó Nuallain in 1964 displaying a court and gallery at the east end and two galleries in the west sector. A dotted line demarcating a pronounced edge to the megalithic cairn on the original plan cannot be clearly made out today. There were no ground works at the site.
