Archaeological testing was carried out on a site being considered for a solar farm in the townland of Corbollis, Ardee, Co. Louth. The proposed solar farm comprised three large fields under crop. The site is bounded to the west and south by the River Glyde which forms the townland, parish and barony boundary.

In total, 41 test trenches were excavated across the site, ranging in length from 15m to 80m and totalling 1785 linear metres.

No finds, features or deposits of archaeological interest were identified in any of the test trenches. The archaeological testing did reveal a series of linear features interpreted as drainage features (T5, T11, T15, T20, T27, T35, T37, T39). Field boundaries which were visible on the 25-inch Ordnance Survey 1907 map were identified in T11, T22, T26, T35. The majority of these features corresponded with linear anomalies indicated on the geophysical survey and there was no evidence from the archaeological testing that any of these features were of archaeological significance. No dateable finds were recovered from any of the tested features, all of which were exposed at a depth of between 0.25m and 0.6m.
