Archaeological testing was carried out at the site of a proposed housing development in Oliver Plunkett Street, Bandon, County Cork in January 2026. The proposed development land is an urban location within the town of Bandon.
The proposed trench layout was altered due to underground services; four trenches and one test pit were excavated. Stone walls, culverts and cobble surfaces were identified. It is likely these are the remains of historic buildings/structures visible on the historic mapping however, it is also possible that they may be earlier in date or incorporate earlier features.
