The site is located at Comertagh, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan, approximately 8.5 km west of Carrickmacross, within a field directly adjacent to and to the east of Mill Lough. The site comprises a pasture field, bound on the north and eastern edges by a mature hedgerow field boundary, to the south by Comertagh road and Mill Lough to the west.
A total of 14 test trenches were excavated. No features of archaeological significance were identified, and no finds were recovered.
