Archaeological testing was undertaken at Rathscanlon, Swinford, Co. Mayo, in advance of a proposed development measuring 0.67 ha. Given that the development exceeded the 0.5 ha threshold, archaeological testing was required following consultation between the applicant and the Senior Archaeologist in Mayo County Council’s Planning Department. Nothing of archaeological interest was uncovered during the testing.
