Monitoring of groundworks was carried out at 78–79 Trinity Street, Drogheda, within the historic town (LH024-041—). The site comprised an L-shaped area, measuring 12m north–south by 8m, in a plot that has a street-facing public house/shopfront that is a Protected Structure (Louth RPS. DB-227). The site is not listed on the NIAH.
Monitoring was carried out over several days in October 2025. The construction rubble and soil were stripped to an average depth of 0.4m, exposing a natural orange boulder clay. The only feature identified was a modern sewer pipe, cut into the natural.
No archaeological features or artefacts were found during the monitoring of groundworks at the site.
