Targeted archaeological testing based on previous geophysical survey was undertaken at the site of a proposed solar farm and substation within the townlands of Cloghboley, Carrowgarrif North, Drumharsna North, Drumharsna South, Keamsallagh East, Killeenhugh, and Parkatleva, approximately 4.5km northeast of Kinvarra, County Galway.
The testing programme identified a total of 14 archaeological and potentially archaeological features, distributed across three different areas of the site within the townlands of Cloghboley, Killeenhugh and Drumharsna South . These include ring-ditches or barrow-type features, possible circular structure/round house, post-holes, pits, and ironworking-related features.
