Aisling Collins and Kevin Weldon conducted archaeological monitoring of two engineering test pits on 27 and 28 March 2025. The test pits were in the yard area south of the church. The proposed extension is planned in this yard area which currently serves as a basketball court. The basketball court is a tarmac surface with a block retaining wall at the eastern end (Main Street) and is c. 1.5-2m higher than the road level.

The two test pits monitored contained hard yellow clay at the lowest levels, which may indicate the beginning of the natural layer. Above this was garden clay with inclusions such as animal bones, followed by rubble infill, and topped by a thin tarmac surface. Only modern finds such as plastic were identified.
