A second phase of archaeological testing was carried out on the site of a renewable energy development at Slievereagh and Coomnaclohy, Co. Cork on 14 and 15 August 2025. Testing consisted of the excavation of twenty-five test trenches; two on the site of the solar compound, two on the site of the construction compound, and twenty-one on new sections of road. The stratigraphy was similar to that encountered during the previous phase of testing in 2024 (2024:892) with generally shallow peat over clayey sand, degraded sandstone, and boulders. The peat was particularly shallow on the lower-lying ground in the southwest of the site (Depth: 0.2m) but there were some deep pockets of peat in the north and east of the site. The only features uncovered during testing were disused modern land drains. No archaeology was found.
