Testing was carried out in two phase on the site in 2025. Twenty-four trenches were excavated across the central portion of the site in February and March and thirty-three trenches were excavated across the northern and southern parts in August and September. A number of features of archaeological potential were identified in six of the central eastern trenches, as well as a feature of archaeological potential in one of the northern trenches and features of limited archaeological potential in two of the northern trenches. The latter appeared to be associated with a nearby 19th-century farm complex.
The features of archaeological potential in the eastern trenches included 16 small possible post-holes, five possible pits or spreads which were ephemeral in nature and a larger spread of soft, charcoal-flecked silty clay that may be archaeological in nature. No finds were located. Further work will be carried out if development proceeds.
