Archaeological monitoring was undertaken for a new housing development in the townland of Ballytrasna, Clasvavodig, Co. Cork. The licenced monitoring was undertaken in compliance with Condition (No. 6), in a grant of planning permission by Cork County Council. The site was previously subject to an archaeological impact assessment, including licenced test-trenching and nothing of archaeological significance was found.
Archaeological monitoring was carried over a one-week period in late September 2025. An area measuring approx. 0.6ha was stripped of topsoil to underlying natural subsoil and eroding limestone bedrock. No archaeological features, deposits or ancient finds were found in the course of the monitoring.
