Planning permission to construct an agricultural shed in the vicinity of a levelled ringfort in Kippane townland on the western outskirts of Charleville was granted on condition that an archaeologist would monitor the removal of topsoil prior to the construction of the building. This work was undertaken on 28th July 2025 and nothing of archaeological significance was exposed.
