Archaeological monitoring of 10 GI pits and the excavation of two 8m long archaeological test trenches was carried out within the boundaries of a proposed development north of Dublin Street at the centre of Monaghan town. The proposed development is located within the Zone of Archaeological Potential for the historic town of Monaghan (MO009-060—-) and possibly also in proximity to the levelled town fortifications (MO009-060004-). No archaeology was found.
